It came full circle! You started the "Buddhism in Rome" trend a week ago, ReligionforBreakfast made simultaneously a video about the same theme and now the conclusion!! Kudos!!

Thanks for collecting some interesting tidbits to explore the strength of Buddhist presence in the Roman world. Your careful scholarship is a treat.

Very interesting topic. I would usually associate Greeks with Buddhism more than Romans because of their central Asia presence after Alexander the great. Also Greek sculptors were the first to make a human representation of Buddha.

At the Victoria and Albert museum in London this week I saw a Buddhist artifact that made reference to the Buddha being born from his mother's side.

This is awesome. Ages ago I read a book which simply stated there was a Buddhist presence in Roman Alexandria without any other details. Finally I get a little more info!

Jesus did not travel to India; rather Buddhism came to Jesus in the Levant.

No opinion about religions, but tetralemma tickles my math/logic background. The development of systematic logic in india, greece, china seem hard to tease apart. Religion might need several translators, but logic can be explained without words.

This is fascinating, i notice this topic has been talked about quite a bit lately. Crazy how theres still rabbit holes to go down as far as roman history after thousands of years of people obsessively discussing and researching rome
