  The sacrifice the dad and brother did for Elliot is real. They sacrificed their lungs literally in those coal mines

  Such an intelligent, "real" movie, a perfectly cast set of characters, and a story that resonates deeply in every way.  Brilliant ending.

  The most authentic working class family ''goodbye''...resonates so deeply with anyone that's ever moved far away from a close family...leaving them behind. It never feels easier over the years.

  My favourite bit is when Billy realises his dad is joking about letting out the room and they fall off the wall laughing and hugging. That is the most beautiful portrayal of the mutual love between a dad and his boy I’ve ever seen on film.

  That dad barely holding it together watching his son is every dad whose heart bursts with love and pride beyond his own understanding.

  His family seems to be bad at first … but in the end they gave it all up for him. To have a better life the dad gave that up for his sons and the brother for himself, because they believed in Billy. <br>How much love … <br><br>And the grandma pushing him away, hit me

  When I left, I had no idea my family cried for days. I told them I had $800 for my trip. I only had $300. Half way cross country, I started selling things realizing I had miscalculated. I had no idea how big the USA was. <br>Within weeks I sold my car and came home. My dreams of becoming an actor ended. To this day, I regret not grabbing my dreams with all my might. <br>This movie moves me like no other. I cry with happiness for the ones that grabbed life.
