  Connery hated spiders too, in fact he was terrified of them. Look closely and you will see that the spider was never on him… in any shots where you see Sean’s face the spider is on a pane of glass which is between it and his skin. Any close up shots where the spider is actually crawling on ‘Bond’s’ body, it is crawling on his stuntman Bob Simmonds.<br><br>In the book it is a centipede not a spider, but a tarantula was chosen for the film as they look far more scary.<br><br>If you enjoyed Dr No you will love the next one ‘From Russia with love’!

  Dr. No is one of Sean Connery&apos;s best James Bond films but it&apos;s been a long time since I&apos;ve seen it last and hope you like it have a nice weekend thanks Verdy.👋

  One aspect of the early Bond films that was a big attraction is how much location filming they did. &nbsp;While this first film only uses Jamaica, later films go all over the world. &nbsp;Not many films did that in the 60&apos;s and 70&apos;s, and it was something of a treat to see all of these places (also keeping in mind how expensive air travel was, so far fewer people had the opportunity to travel internationally.)

  That iconic moment Ursulla Andres emerges from the surf went down in history, the first ever &apos;Bond&apos; girl. We had to wait until Die Another Day in 2002 when Halle Berry did the same thing to Pierce Brosnan&apos;s Bond.

  Tarantulas are actually pretty harmless to humans - their bite just stings a little. &nbsp;They got a bad rap after Hollywood found them to be convenient &quot;bad guys&quot;. &nbsp;They&apos;re actually intelligent, private, and go about their work, just like we do.

  When Dr. No was released in 1962, Connery was 32 years old. He was the youngest actor to portray Bond.
