  My degree is in genetics and I was in college in the 80s. We were taught that expression was 50/50 nature and nurture. I never believed it. I always thought how could nurture be that high of an influence when your genetics is the blueprint of what causes your response to your environment? I am so glad this is finally being studied.

  Dr. Salerno, I have been following you around YouTube, I have bought your book, the hard copy and also the audible version so I have both formats.  You are such a blessing, that sounds so minimal compared to what you have given me by listening to you.  Almost 30 years with a narcissist and I am finally out.  Please keep your books coming, your talks on YouTube are more healing than 20 years of counselling.  I was told by Christian counsellors that it was me, I wasn’t submissive enough, I wasn’t forgiving enough, and not only do I feel I need healing from 30 years with a narcissist, I need healing to be able to go back to Church and to feel like God isn’t disappointed in me and I haven’t lost Him.  Bless you a million times. ❤

  Finally someone who makes sense. Everyone else in this arena seems to want to make ‘us’ stay the victim…because of the term codependency. <br><br>I thought I was broken beyond repair. <br><br>Now I feel free because I now realize I would only go to pieces with my Dad and with my ex. Everyone else saw me for who I am…a good person. Not the crazy woman that these bobble heads turned me in to in their presence.

  Dr Salerno I really appreciate your bringing forward this very important message that it&apos;s not the fault of the environment, but rather genetics that cause NPD. This is something that therapists also need to learn because many parents are being blamed erroneously for their children&apos;s narcissism which is absolutely devastating.

  I read the book and it completely shifted my reality. I also listened to the audible version and dr Salerno himself is reading it, which was so pleasant to listen. Everything we believed about the narcissism is about to change.

  For years I thought I was to blame for my child being a narcissisit, even though they had a perfectly normal childhood. I read the book and now I know I have nothing to feel guilty about. So THANK YOU

  Dr. Salerno so spot on. They don’t want a peaceful compatible relationship. Normal is BORING for them. They have to create chaos, discord to keep a chaotic vibration, energy going which is stimulating to them. Peace is boring. <br>There IS no peace with them. The only peace is &nbsp;… to get GET OUT👍🏻<br>PEACE awaits you… on the other side💕
