That they know to try to conceal the abuse from outsiders is indicative of that they are well aware of that it's wrong and unacceptable.

It's pointless to argue with these demons because yes, for example, they know they disrespected you. That was the design.

Something that I have learned to do, is when someone in my sphere seems to be exhibiting bad behavior, I start writing notes about my encounters so that I can determine if there is a pattern and what the pattern looks like. It has been incredibly helpful for me to determine if the person is exhibiting toxic behaviors on a regular basis or if we have simply had a miscommunication. Growing up, I was encouraged to give people " the benefit of the doubt," which can encourage chronic bad behavior.
