I made sure to keep my protein intake high, and did 30 min or cardio and lifted weights 5-6 days a week. I lost 130 pounds and gained a significant amount of muscle.

All the communities im in where people are using some form of these medications, they are all able to do some form of exercise & enjoy their lives again. These medications certainly has risks, but so does remaining obese, inflamed, food noises bombarding their minds, and struggling to battle this disease of obesity without taking advantage of them. If you know you have been trying for decades to get control of it with no avail, talk with your doctor(s) and consider using it...its not cheating, its getting your life back.

Any drug addict will tell you that food noise sounds just like thinking about getting high, can i get high, how high can i get. Sounds like that addiction voice

3 years ago I crushed my femoral nerve and spent a week in the hospital being treated for excruciating pain. I didn't know what it was at the time, but my food noise disappeared. I thought it was just the pain meds. But when I returned home the food noise was still gone. When the pain stopped and I was off pain meds, the food noise was still gone. I had to force myself to eat 1,200 calories in a day. I felt complete peace around food and lost 25 lbs in 3 months.

I realized at the time that if they could figure out why my food noise stopped, it would solve weight problems for millions.

After 4 months, the food noise returned with vengeance and all the weight came back on.

Somehow, that injury caused my body to secrete that hormone and stop my body from the relentless search for food. I now have that same feeling being on a GLP-1.

Food noise is for real. Dr. Nadolsky gave a great description of it. I just wanted to add one thing to it. It most closely mimics a compulsivity- even if you don't normally suffer from that sort of thing. It happens the most after I lose a substantial amount of weight. I had lost 50+ lbs changing my diet and workout routine and I thought about food 24-7. The first time I took Zepbound was the first time I actually would feel full without gorging myself. And, for the first time in my life, I understood finally how people could get busy and forget to eat or not realize how it was an hour or two hours late for their normal lunch or dinner. That compulsivity of always thinking about food died after starting Zepbound.

I thought I would never be able to inject myself, but turns out I can’t even feel the needle. The very first shot I thought ut oh, something went wrong, the needle didn’t go in, because I felt nothing. Until about 10 seconds later, just a teeny tiny dot of blood showed up. It is totally pain-free.

The food noise I had pushed me to eat compulsively, no matter the state of my stomach. I could be overfull and still be driven to eat. That's why I could never keep weight off-no matter how slowly, without being on a diet, my weight went down, I could never stabilize at that lower weight. The compulsion would overtake my brain. I'm at maintenance now, for a few months, hoping hoping hoping the medication will keep that compulsion at bay!

really appreciate how thorough this breakdown is, especially covering both the metabolic and cardiovascular effects together because most GLP-1 content online stays surface level and just talks about appetite.

one thing i'd add from personal experience on the weight loss side: the timeline expectations piece matters a lot. i was so focused on the scale in months 1 and 2 that i almost quit during a stall in month 3 that turned out to be totally normal. went from around 218 down to about 174 over about 9 months on compounded semaglutide through formblends, but that middle stretch where nothing moved for almost 5 weeks had me second-guessing everything.

the mechanism stuff in this video actually would have helped me stay patient earlier. when you understand WHY the plateau happens physiologically its easier not to panic through it. would love a follow-up video specifically on what to do during stalls, protein targets, titration decisions, that kind of thing.
