This is reassuring, I wasn't overly worried about the cold weather effects as it's pretty mild on the NE coast, but just found out my Elroq 60 is sat at the docks waiting to be brought to the UK.

One important thing you miss to consider is the battery life.
For the same distance done on many years, you'll have more battery charging sessions with a small battery. And the battery's life depends directly of the number of charging sessions.
So, even if a small battery makes the job for the day uses, its life will be shorter on the long term.

Could have used electroverse at SSE Source chargers at Dundee. I normally do at £0.66/kWh.

I'm heading to Northern Scotland this weekend... blankets for passengers, hot water bottle and pre-heat the car! Save battery... The experience of the chargers not working/glitching is all too familiar.

I have never seen that brand of charger. The Osprey charger was completely different to the ones locally but still 87 p! We had to use the Lidl one in Saffron Walden. If you have Lidl Plus you pay 12p less at 62p. The charging progress in kWh time and how much one is being charged is shown is on the phone app. Except we had to get Lidl Customer Services to reboot the charger and it was freezing cold!

That is something what gets me.Driven Petrol Diesel and LPG.Filling the car was never a problem .I could drive from Yorkshire to London back on a full tank of diesel.I love driving my EV.Its a E Berlingo 50 kw battery. The range is crap and that is a shame.

If you charged via electroverse, it should give you charging info for current and past sessions in the electroverse app, including kwh and £p.

By law, they must tell you the rate before the charge starts.

"The Public Charge Point Regulations 2023 mandate clear pricing transparency.
Required Display: Operators must clearly display the maximum total cost in pence per kilowatt-hour (p/kWh).
Location of Price: The price must be visible to the consumer before charging begins, either on the charge point itself (via a screen or a physical sticker/sign) or through a separate device like an app or website that doesn't require a pre-existing contract to view."

So they obviously believe that sending you to their website is complying with the law.

If two prices are shown as on this charger website, I'd always assume that the higher price was the Pay and Go price and the membership price was the lower figure.

I'd suggest looking at the Arnold Clark chargers. Not all are open 24 hours but they have chargers at more and more showrooms, for 55p per kWh, at least at present.
If you are charging during opening hours you can pop in for a free coffe and a seat.
And no, I don't work for them, but I've found them useful when running low

Urgh that charging experience was rough... I had a similar experience travelling on xmas day when higher speeds than usual due to low traffic and cold weather meant that I was 2 or 3% short of what I needed for my 190 miles journey in my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range. I got down to 5% before making the call to come off the M25 at Tesla Supercharger Dartford, pulled up, plugged in, charge started immediately, 2 minutes later (literally) I unplugged and was on my way. Total time added to journey was 5 minutes. This is where plug and charge (which is certainly not just a Tesla thing) really helps.

You had two opportunities to charge the car before leaving for Dundee, one for free and the other at home, using either of those would have seen you home completely stress free.
