What gets me about the boyfriend is that the man works in a restaurant. He's aspiring to be a sous-chef. A profession that is also high stress and demands long hours. So I don't know how he's able to be home in the evenings or have that much time on his hands to even notice and be pissy with her. They should have made him be a teacher or work a regular 9-5 job so he at least had a leg to stand on when it came to not understanding her long hours, erratic schedule and stress.

Fun fact: Stanley Tucci is Emily Blunt's brother-in-law. He's married to her sister.

I love the line, "Everybody wants to be us." because of her delivery. Miranda isn't happy; she's getting divorced, she's worried about her girls, she had to sideline the career of one of the few people she respects to save her own. She's aware of the cost of her success and she's right, most people couldn't do what it takes, even if they salivate over the "success" they envy.

She's really saying that "Everybody wants to be *what they think we are*" and then gets out of the car and smiles for the camera.

It would be hilarious if Emily wasn’t even an Emily but Miranda just called her that and it stuck.

Stanley Tucci as Nigel is such an underrated character and performance. Tucci is wonderful in this movie.
