  Something you missed in Sega’s history is that it was originally an American company. That history really influenced their company culture and is part of what helped them bridge the Pacific in ways Nintendon’t.

  If I recall, the redesign of Sonic in the first movie bankrupted the special effects studio that made it.

  Through the years, Sonic amassed a great group of allies: Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, Shadow, Rouge, Cream, E-123 Omega, Vector, Espio, Charmy, Blaze, Silver, Sticks, Ray, Mighty and Trip the Sungazer.

  Our family was fortunate to be able to have both an snes and genesis. My sis got the snes for xmas and when Sonic Tuesday (or that following xmas) happened I was gifted a genesis.  I loved sonic 2...having never played sonic one at the time...and it made me a big sega fan boy...plus it was the 90s and sega was doing "edgy" ads and I wanted to feel like a grown up so I gravitated towards sega
