  This is probably the hardest song to listen to, like period. You've gotten through Daddy... Please dare to continue with Korn! Now you have a greater understanding of Jonathan, which makes all of their music more meaningful. Wanting to protect and support Jonathan become personal. He's the sweetest man in the entire world... And one of the best frontmen of all time. Nobody gives their all like him.

  So the background to this song is Jonathan Davis (the lead singer) was sexually assaulted as a kid by a family friend/babysitter and when he tried to tell his parents they didn’t believe him they just thought he was a kid making up stories. So he carried that pain with him through throughout all his youth throughout all his teenage years and when he breaks down at the end of the song the band didn’t really know what to do so they just kept playing and just let him do his thing

  the first time that I heard this song, i had to take the rest of the day off. To say it resonates is an understatement. Anyways, great reaction. Its always good to see someone get the meaning of this song and react with empathy.

  The lead singer, Jonathan Davis, went through this with a “friend of the family.” His parents didn’t listen to him when he told them. It’s been said that his mom actually knew, but did nothing because the person was a “good friend.” I went through something similar at a young age. The difference was that I didn’t say anything to my parents, they didn’t know. I locked it away until I was around 30 and finally told them. The “family friend” big Don had already been busted for molesting my sis and the daughter of my mom’s best friend Erin. He went to prison for that, got stabbed up pretty quickly. Died in the showers. I still kept the whole thing internally until I was around 30. Fucked up my life for a long time. I know it’s the reason I’m an alcoholic. But I still try and fight to live each day.

  I heard this song at 7yo, which was certainly too early but I’m still glad I did. Because when I was 15 I entered a relationship with a boy who SA‘d me for more than a year. Davis was abused by a babysitter/family friend, and wasn’t believed. Mine was my boyfriend,  and my mother never believed me because she loved him. When I told her what happened,she said „ew how could you let him do that to you“ and tried to convince me for years to get back with him, even after I was finally in a happy relationship at age 28. I have no contact with her now because I sent her this song, saying this was how she made me feel, and she basically mocked me. All children deserve parents, not all parents deserve children.

  yes, he was abused as a child, but it was actually  a baby sitter and  family friend that abused him and no one believed him. during his breakdown at the end the producer had the band keep playing and he kept recording. This song is probably the most rawest emotional song you will ever hear. No one is ever ready for "daddy"  and no one ever forgets the first time they hear it. If this is your first Korn song, I am sorry that someone recommended this song to be your first experience of Korn. Not all Korn songs are like this one. I suggest listening to Clown or Shoots and ladders or Freak on a leash or literally anything else by them
