  Young man, let me tell you something. You protect Elvis Presley‘s reputation so fiercely you bring tears to my eyes. I grew up listening to Elvis. I got to see him perform live at the age of nine. To see someone who was born after his passing, defend him so fiercely just starts up so much emotion in me. Elvis would have loved you, just as I do.

  All performers are influenced by someone. &nbsp;Talk to most every musician and they say, oh I grew up listen to so and so. &nbsp;The idea that anybody owns music is ridiculous. &nbsp;Great guitar player Jimi Hendricks in England said, &quot;Elvis made me want to pick up a guitar&quot;. And Bruce Springsteen said, &quot; If it wasn&apos;t for Elvis I would be selling Encyclopedias&quot;. &nbsp;James Brown said, &quot;Elvis opened a lot of Doors for Me, he was a Soul Brother&quot;. &nbsp;Elvis came from nothing, but most of all he showed everybody that they could be somebody. &nbsp;Thanks, Love this.🤗

  Elvis respcted the black community and made sure if he covered one of their songs they received money also! People don&apos;t know everything about Elvis!

  In 1957 &quot;A RUMOR&quot; got started out of no where-the rumor was that Elvis said <br>&quot;All blacks can do is shine my shoes&quot; .....supposedly it was said in a major newspaper interview.<br>JET magazine decided to investigate if it was true. JET was an all black publication.<br>They sent reporters to try and confirm the truth about the rumor-and they could not find any newspaper article which contained this rumored quote. The reporters then went to Memphis to talk with black and white friends of Elvis to discover if he was capable of saying such a thing.<br>They found out he was not. Then they interviewed Elvis himself and found that he had not one racist bone in his body. The investigation was published in JET magazine-BUT as with all things the rumor survived and the investigation was forgotten. THIS is where the hate of Elvis began by many in the black community. Today the truth is coming out on You Tube.

  Elvis didn&apos;t call himself the King, in fact he said a few times that there is only one king - Jesus.
