I really don’t think y’all two realize just how much this video revolutionized how music videos were made. It all changed after this. He was the first one to ever do something like this. 44 years later and this album is still the best selling album of all time.

Remember, these are not graphics. These are prosthetics, costumes, and makeup. This is how things used to be done, and should be done. Practical and in-camera.

In fact, when Michael had the idea to create this, no production company or record label wanted to do it because they thought it was crazy; there were no clips like that at the time. Michael spent $1 million of his own money to produce it, and from then on, the clips started to tell a story. He revolutionized the music industry. The guy was a visionary genius.

FUN FACT: Keeping the raw audio with all the claps, shuffles and dance steps was his idea completely. The reason behind this creative decision was because Michael recorded his music in the studio in the same fashion. He never wanted the engineer to take out the small noises he made, like him clapping, stomping his feet and snapping his fingers. He believed keeping all those sounds in the recording felt more natural to him. So if you find any of his acapellas on here just listen closely. It's all there. You can literally hear him grooving while he recorded his music. I mean, the guy was never able to stay still in the booth lol. When he knew he had a hit on his hands he would be in there vibing. It's magical 🔥🔥🔥
