  I’ve gained sooo many followers on tiktok and Instagram from posting acapella covers of pop punk songs but the tough part is then trying to make and post content for my original music.. that same audience or at least the audience the algorithm thinks I should be in front of isn’t necessarily translating and that’s kind of the problem I’m at right now. A good handful have , but the majority don’t know, don’t care or straight up don’t even see that original content. I’ve been trying to mix the two in clever ways and it’s honestly worked but it’s still tricky to navigate. This video helps in giving me some solid ideas for new ways to go about it though - so thanks brotha✊🏼

  I love the flexibility built into this strategy and the idea of being honest with yourself about the scores. Honing in on 3 of the 7 is a way of being a bit easier on yourself too, which I also appreciate! ;) I've been consistently posting a new YouTube at 12 noon every Friday - just me singing either one of my songs or a cover. With each one I try something different - different camera angle, lighting, type of song, etc. I've been getting into the "testing for improvement" thing and my subscriber base has been steadily ticking up!   I&apos;ll be forever grateful for you and your video about not being too late at 30+. I watched it last year and it inspired me to try again (and I won&apos;t stop trying until I die now, haha). I released my first song for this new project (Rage Weaver) in April. I believe I had some success (170 followers on Instagram), but most of all, I learned a lot. One step at a time, as you always say.<br><br>I tend to be hard on myself, so it&apos;s difficult for me to tell what my weaknesses and strengths are. What I can say, though, is that people who hear my songs say they are good. A few days ago, someone told me that if they didn&apos;t know me, they would think my song was from a big band, haha.<br><br>Well, I think my brand is strong (Rage Weaver, which is a concept that channels the hate within, enabling the person to transform those feelings into catharsis. It is accompanied by the Dark Scars, which represent the emotional burdens accumulated as a result of the hate that Rage Weaver has processed or woven into being.)<br><br>Let me elaborate on the Rage Weaver project, character, and world:<br><br>The Concept: Rage Weaver is not a shamanic figure, but more like an entity, an aura, or even a part of the soul itself. It represents the inherent, raw power of darker emotions, not as evil, but as a fundamental aspect of nature and survival. Rage Weaver is the guide who takes you on the journey through these intense emotions.<br>The Dark Scars: These are the residual marks, the memories, left after confronting and processing difficult emotions. They serve as a reminder, a lesson learned, to prevent falling back into the same pitfalls. Visually, both Rage Weaver and the Dark Scars embody darkness, but a natural, not malevolent, kind. They all wear black clothes. Rage Weaver has black makeup and a long black coat, while the Dark Scars wear black hooded robes. This imagery symbolizes that these darker aspects are integral to the human experience and essential for growth.<br>The World: The world of Rage Weaver is one where emotional landscapes are tangible. There might be &quot;plains of resentment,&quot; &quot;mountains of despair,&quot; or &quot;rivers of rage,&quot; all of which Rage Weaver navigates, helping others find their way. It&apos;s a universe where internal struggle has external manifestation, making the journey of emotional processing a grand, epic quest.<br>My talent as a performer is something I&apos;m working on. I&apos;m a decent multi-instrumentalist, but without much camera experience. I want to say that I&apos;m not a good actor or dancer when being filmed, and my primary skills lie in playing instruments and singing.<br><br>Video concepts, I think, are every musician&apos;s arch-nemesis. It&apos;s hard to think of content that doesn&apos;t immediately come across as selling the song. I believe the audience tends not to respond well to content the moment they perceive it as a song promotion. The content has to be authentic, entertaining, and the viewer shouldn&apos;t immediately realize it&apos;s a promotion. I&apos;m trying very hard to make good content, but without significant success yet.<br><br>Video execution: I&apos;d give myself a 6. I try hard, but you can see that it&apos;s a bit forced.<br><br>Emotional hook: My style is alternative metal, with songs about darker emotions. Some of them seem almost too edgy. When I tried spoken hooks, I got hate comments, haha. So I guess I&apos;m a 4 at best.<br><br>Momentum: I guess it&apos;s too soon to say, but with the time I have to work on everything (because of work and family), I think it&apos;s good. I&apos;ve had some progress in five and a half months.<br><br>Well, that&apos;s it, I guess, haha.<br><br>And thank you for everything you do, Damian. Your videos truly make a difference, inspiring so many of us to keep chasing our music dreams, no matter the challenges or the stage of life we&apos;re in.
