  When this song came out in 1982 I was in a very difficult period of my life. I was sad unhappy didn’t know what to do with my life.This song helped me to get through it. I also sang it when I was riding my bike on my way to school. It was so comforting. ABBA were my god, they saved my life

  I&apos;ve always loved this song and having heard both Bjorn and Benny&apos;s comments over the years, I&apos;m in no doubt &apos;YOU&apos; lead to death. All the clues are in the lyrics, a reference to the melodrama of Dallas, the reference to Marilyn French (her latest book at the time was &apos;The Bleeding Heart&apos; about two strangers that have both had bad life experiences, meeting on a train and having an affair), the initial title for the song &apos;The Suffering Bird&apos; all point to this being the final thoughts of a woman who isn&apos;t coming back from this encounter. That cleverness makes it a masterpieces and when you add the vocal obligato singing of Frida during the synth driven instrumental sections, it becomes very dark.

  It&apos;s not an easy typical Abba song &nbsp;for &quot;traditional&quot;Abba fans.Many of us &nbsp;young at age were kinda &quot;shocked&quot; when this came out.Abba had gone even darker and sad.It was far less commercial but very much critically honoured.It grew on many of us over the years as we also grew older.It&apos;s mainly a grower not an instant catcher meaning not a song for the masses but &nbsp;sort of more &apos;limited&apos;,eclectic &nbsp; and artistic.Frida&apos;s operatic vocals in the end are so &nbsp;impressive.

  Agnetha did not sing this song as a vocalist, but as an ordinary woman. That&apos;s why it sounds so different. Also, she did it in dimmed lights. Some recall that after Agnetha sang the last verse, she took of her headphones before quietly leaving the studio (and the band) through the back door.
