Will wasn't "lying" about his wife watching over his children. That was a call-back to what he told the children when he left and Will meant it.

Even the women that hired Will were afraid and in awe of him at the end of the movie. They couldn't believe exactly who they were dealing with.

"The acting is good. So fat-free." Is a beautiful description of the film's dialogue. There isn't an unnecessary word in it.

He was that guy. Everyone has a darkness and a light inside them. When he drank the darkness came out of him and took over. His wife recognized that and helped him stop drinking and control the darkness inside him. When Ned died and he started drinking again, he let the darkness out again to seek vengeance for his friend.

No one ever notices English Bob's accent changes from a upper-class English gentleman to a lower class Cockney when he's leaving town. Everything about Bob was an affectation.
