  Twelve men, sitting at a rectangular table, in a dingy room, and arguing.  No sex, special effects, or physical violence.  All done in black and white.   A formula that will initiate yawns from most prospective viewers.  And yet, it is one of the greatest motion pictures in cinematic history! Do not judge a book by its cover, is a phrase that comes to mind.  My favorite subplot of the film, is the elderly man (Joseph Sweeney), who is so observant, that he is the one to discredit the testimony of the two "eye witnesses!"  Old people, DO have value!

  I absolutely LOVE when reactors watch this film. Almost everyone goes in saying "oh, it's in black and white? Hmmmm."  Assuming the age would make the film not entertaining. And I have YET to see a reactor not LOVE this film.  It is a masterpiece.  I love how almost everyone who watches it has their own thoughts/perceptions tossed back and forth at least a few times. THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS ONE!

  Here's the thing about Lee J. Cobb's acting. (He played the one with the son). The character's rage is so overwhelming, it's easy to dismiss him simply as a loudmouth bully. But if you watch carefully, Cobb also shows insecurity, love, humor, warmth, shame, intelligence, fear... It's all there, just measured out very subtly and precisely. A one-man acting masterclass.

  You know a director is talented when they can shoot an entire film in one room and it turns out this good. Great writing too.

  Juror #4 said he doesn’t sweat. When Juror #8 was questioning him, a drop of sweat rolled down his forehead.

  Great reaction. This movie is constantly ranked no.5 on IMDB, and with good reason. One of the greatest movies ever made. 1 room. 1 great script. And 12 of the finest character actors of their time. The script has been used in Psychology classes as an example of confirmation bias. Lee J. Cobb&apos;s breakdown at the end is one of the greatest performances in cinema. Incredible acting in a masterpiece of a movie.

  &quot;The Grapes of Wrath&quot; (1940) again starring iconic actor Henry Fonda, based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel &nbsp;by eventual Nobel Prize winner for literature John Steinbeck, also starring John Carradine and Jane Darwell, is another serious movie that you should seriously watch. &nbsp;Directed by the great John Ford who won the Oscar for directing that year, the movie was nominated for 7 Oscars including Best Picture. &nbsp;Driven by poverty, a poor Oklahoma family in the 1930&apos;s heads west for the promised land of California.

  It was great to see your reaction to probably one of the greatest acting scenes near the end, the expression on your faces said it all when he finally revealed “not guilty” just shows how brilliant that scene is, as no one sees it coming, something we won’t witness anymore unfortunately, and that is damn fine acting ability.

  Even a film this old, made in that time in our history, handilng the concept of racism with such subtle power. Shunning the racist. No yelling or freakouts, no grandstanding, no moralizing speeches, &nbsp;just turning their backs to make the man re-evaluate his sense of self and how he views the world. One of my favorite scenes in movies.
