  Back in the 90s I knew an old guy who carried a .36 black powder revolver as his EDC. At that time (in WA state anyways) you didn&apos;t need a concealed &nbsp;carry permit to carry an &quot;antique&quot; He would say that if he missed with the five shots he had he could just run away under cover of the smoke cloud he&apos;d just made.

  I think one of the reasons the .45 worked as well as it did is the pressure for standard ammo isn’t that high so the gun is designed around low pressure powder to begin with.
