Another incredible video! Succor creek is one of my favorite geode spots ❤  And Leslie Gulch is truly amazing! Like they say- worth every washboard to get there.

A million people have looked for that cannon.   We used to hunt for it back in the late 80s as well as the lost gold.  Found plenty of cool stuff but that cannon is long gone.

One good thing is down there in the bottom of the canyon the riverbed could not have shifted around too far after all those years.  It's all carved out of lava rock.

Dude, if you are going wading, get yourself a wading staff. They're inexpensive, fold and light weight. They help with balance and footing when it's slippery. If you are as gooy as me (night fishing) or the water is murky they also help you judge the depth of the water. I have a Folstaff that I've been using for 20 years. Safety first!

I live in Eastern Oregon and have always heard the stories of this cannon and another one, brass, supposedly that was dumped in a crevasse in the Owyhee Canyon.  Stories go that it has been spotted in the ravine in the right light when on the West rim looking East.

My Grandpa found it in the mid-1970's. They tried to pull it out with everything from a truck to some fairly large CATs that they used at his mine in the Owyhees. He also had spoken with someone connected to a cavalry unit that were ambushed on their way to Fort Boise. The story goes that the wagon with the repeating rifles and other small arms had to be ditched in a 'box canyon' within a long day's ride heading east to west, towards the original Fort Boise. The fort was founded by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1834 near where the Boise and Snake Rivers meet near Parma, Idaho. It was a key resupply point for all traffic on the Oregon Trail.

Knowing the quality of your videos, I knew this was going to be a personal favorite once I saw the title. I love how you integrate overlanding, nature, and history. I imagine this takes a lot of work, but I hope you keep making these kinds of videos.
