History, no matter what it is should never be watered down so to speak, all history good and bad should be taught and learned from, it's why I dislike when YouTube forces some history channels to blur out certain things, history should never be gate kept or limited to view.

Alice Dean is still over there, under the waters of the Ohio, for she sank after being burned. They've talked about raising her on a couple of occasions but nothing has come to fruition.

There were two other Civil war battles in Indiana, Newburgh Raid and the Battle Corydon.

My family are all from this area. My Ancestor was from Mauckport and would eventually serve in Sherman’s March to the sea. I’m actually writing a book on this area.

Vienna, Indiana here. A brief stop for Morgan and Co. between Salem and Lexington IN. They spent the afternoon listening to union telegraph lines before destroying them. As well as destroying some train track and a small bridge that crosses Pigeon Roost Creek here.

John Hunt Morgan launched a few raids from my area in northern Tennessee. I had never heard of him until I moved here and I don't know why - he was a real tiger.

Just a little more local history about the Confederate Monument although you have done a great job presenting it. Yes it was originally located on 3rd Street in an area known as "Old Louisville" a wealthy area populated during the Civil War. After the Breonna Tayler riots, which unfortunately occurred in Louisville, it was deemed unacceptable to have historic Confederate acknowledgements. So as you stated, the monument was relocated approx. 60 miles south to Brandenburg. Just after relocation, BLM and like supporters were dissatisfied with the relocation instead of its destruction so pledged to converge in Brandenburg to destroy it. Brandenburg citizens coalesced and physically surrounded the monument for days to fend off any attempts at its destruction or desecration.

Thank you for telling this story. I work in McMinnville, TN, where he organized his raid and started out. I have seen signs in town about this story, but never researched the story. I think this story has been suppressed. People think that it glorifies what happened and I am sure there are a few that may try to glorify it. But, these stories need to be told. If we don't, these lessons will be relearned the hard way. The lesson I get from Morgan's Raid is this: If good men stand by and do nothing, evil will grow.

My great great grandfather was in the 10th Kentucky Cav CSA and was captured and spent 18 months in a federal prison. Morgan escaped and was killed in Greenville Tennessee later
