  My high school mascot was a Raider.  Named after Morgan's Raid.

  Don’t forget that South Ripley in Versailles named their school mascot “Raiders” after Morgan’s Raid😅

  Your videos are spectacular, a few years ago my wife and I had the great honor of being in Croydon during the Morgan raid reenactment, it was very interesting. My wife being a teacher was extremely excited! I also learned a bunch. Thanks for the great video!

  My great grandfather was in company E, Eighth Kentucky Cavalry on that raid. He was 16 when he joined Morgans Raiders in September of 1862. Captured near West Virginia he was paraded through Cincinnati with his comrades and imprisoned in Camp Douglas Chicago until 1864 when exchanged.  Returned to service until surrendered in April 1865. When he and future brother in-law walked home to Clark County Kentucky from Southwest Virginia.

  I work in McMinnville, TN where he started from. I have seen a sign around town about Morgans Raid, but never knew the story. Thank you for shining some light on the true events. Wow, great video. You're right, we have to study and remember the lessons of the past. If not, they will have to be relearned the hard way again.
