  On behalf of every Canadian who watches your channel... all we have to say is "FINALLY, YOU FOUND THIS!", on all your videos about Gander all Canadians are screaming in the comments to watch Come From Away. It's a brilliant musical that tells the story of not only the Town of Gander, but alot of the "Plane People" who inhabited Gander. And yes, it has played in the US on Broadway, as well as a touring company across the US.

  I watched ‘Come from away’ in London &nbsp;without knowing anything about it. I cried one and a half hour non-stop, and when I left the theatre there were other people crying on the street. Even now, 4 years later, I am not able to talk about it without filling up.<br>For the record, it’s not sad, but extremely touching. It’s very uplifting and restored my fate in humankind. <br>The actors also switch between different characters, islanders and people stranded. It’s a 100 min. Rollercoaster without any break, not even for applaus after big song numbers.

  A 100 minute telling of the story, from the first female pilot of American Airlines to the local cop (ironically named oz fudge) to the vet to the teachers. A cast of 12, with 12 chairs and 2 tables as the only props, is incredibly well told. <br>I ended up in college with a girl there on a scholarship from the gander fund, and she said the show was very true to what happened.

  Come from Away is an incredible piece of theatre. Highly recommended. Even the Apple TV filming of the show is great! I&apos;ve seen it live a few times. 9/11 was a difficult time in our history. This musical honours that with the same respect the people of Gander offered those stranded travellers. We humans can be so good to each other when we choose to. Wishing everyone well!

  Gander Airport was one of the busiest airports in the world in the 1950s because most transatlantic flights had to stop there to refuel. Eventually, planes got much bigger and capable of holding enough fuel to fly non-stop and Gander became less busy. But Gander&apos;s Airport has always been important.

  Hi! I’m from Newfoundland, the broom you were talking about, is what we call an “ugly stick” and it’s usually a mop with bottle caps, small bells and such nailed to it to use as an instrument!

  Tyler, this was a smash hit on Broadway ages ago. &nbsp;It played in the West End (London) as well and has traveled the world. &nbsp;You should get out more!

  I got a free ticket to see it a few weeks ago. I&apos;m not s fan of musicals. But I LOVED it! I laughed and cried.

  Hello Tyler, Come From Away is an incredible musical that was conceived by Michael Rubinoff, a lawyer and an Associate Dean of Visual and Performing Arts at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario with the story, who recruited Irene Sanloff and David Hein to write the story, &nbsp;lyrics and music. Irene and David travelled to Gander and spent time recording the first hand accounts from the residents. The production was first performed at Sheridan College. The staging is simple, just a static backdrop with chairs that are moved around to hint at the formation of planes, buses, cafes, gymnasiums, offices, etc so there is nothing to distract from the emotions and stories of the people. It is such an inspiring piece of theatre. <br><br>To put in perspective, Gander took in 38 diverted planes with 7000 passengers in a town of 10,000 residents. Beyond Gander, this was a Canada wide operation as St. John’s, Newfoundland landed 21 planes, Deer Lake, NL landed 1 plane, Goose Bay, NL landed 7 planes, Stephenville, NL landed 8 planes, Halifax, Nova Scotia landed 40 planes, Moncton, New Brunswick landed 10 planes, Montreal, &nbsp;QC landed 17 between two separate airports, Toronto, ON landed 14, Hamilton, ON landed 4, Winnipeg, MB landed 15, Calgary, AB landed 13, Edmonton, AB landed 6, Vancouver landed 34 planes (about 8500 passengers), Whitehorse, &nbsp;YT landed 3, and Yellowknife, NT landed 1….a total of 232 planes were diverted throughout Canadian airports and passengers were supported and cared for by those communities. <br><br>As well, many Canadian emergency personnel travelled to New York to assist with the rescue and clean up of the devastation left immediately after the Twin Towers fell.
