  Raccoon poop is one of the most dangerous wildlife droppings you can encounter, mainly because of Baylisascaris procyonis (raccoon roundworm), which is far more serious than most people realize.

  We have a family of them in my neighborhood. They have destroyed the roof of every house on the block. Aprox $18,000 per home.

  Like a squirrel I don’t want a raccoon around , they are mischievous !<br>They act like bears !

  Once when I was a kid in my teens I camped alone &nbsp;near a mangrove grove on a beach and when I awoke in the morning there were raccoon tracks all around me and tracks on my sleeping bag...They had walked right over me as I slept...<br><br>I can only wish I could sleep that soundly now....

  A raccoon killed pet two kittens and badly injured the mother cat. They constantly eat my pet food, and they constantly foul up the water I leave for my pets.

  According to my destroyed attic--twice--and most of the commenters here, the damage wreaked by these destructive &quot;cute&quot; mammals far outweighs any beneficial consumption of grubs and rotted fruit!

  Yes the raccoon is eating the food the cat didn’t, and leaving dirt in the water bowl.

  I’m kind of miffed at raccoons right now. Just a few weeks ago, a raccoon reached into my chicken run and grabbed one of my chicken’s necks. &nbsp;Broke it, then proceeded to eat what it could reach of the chicken’s body. &nbsp;And it or maybe they pretty much ate everything on that chicken that wasn’t bones or feathers. &nbsp; Then, the following night, the raccoon (s?) came back with a coyote, broke into said chicken run and killed all ten of the chickens I had left. &nbsp;We have a photo of a raccoon and a coyote in the chicken run on our trail cam. &nbsp;Our chicken run was a fortress. &nbsp;Yet somehow the raccoon or the coyote managed to pull the fencing away from the run. &nbsp;They broke the zip ties and wire wrapped around the fencing that tied the fencing to the chicken run. They even moved a ling plant box that was in front of the run. &nbsp;I’m sure the coyote killed most of the chickens because they kill for sport, whereas the raccoon killed one to eat. &nbsp;That’s why I think we had several raccoons and one coyote, because five chickens were removed from the run and never found. &nbsp;Five were lying dead in the chicken run when we went out to it in the morning. &nbsp;So sad. &nbsp;And so upsetting! &nbsp;For four years, no animal got into my chickens. &nbsp;Then one night and they’re all dead.
