  I absolutely love racoons, they visit me every evening and I feed them. I find them quite respectful.

  Neighbor had a baby raccoon that got his rope leash all twisted up in the kid&apos;s toys in the back yard. &nbsp;I went over and unraveled it through the legs of a rocking horse, etc. and when I was done it climbed up my arm and perched on my shoulder, making little &quot;mph, mph&quot; noises like it was grateful. &nbsp;What a little charmer; I&apos;ll never forget those little hands climbing up my sleeve.

  Had one for a pet ,found him as a baby raised him for 10 yrs &nbsp;,incredible memory &nbsp;always slept under my pillow,treat with love and respect always

  We had racoons as pets when I was growing up. The mother had been hit by a car on a country road by the house and my sister and I heard the babies cry while we were riding our bikes. The babies didn&apos;t have their eyes open yet and my dad was able to get them out of the tree. We raised them for years. They played with our dogs, cats, groundhogs, and skunk. Smart little animals and we had to keep locks on the kitchen cabinets and refrigerator/freezer as they would get in during the night and eat what they wanted. Had them for many years and then finally they were migrated to a friends home who had a large farm with a big tree by the house where they lived. While we had them it was great. They loved to play and cuddle.

  I am currently taking care of a 1 year old raccoon that was found alone in the middle of a road on a cold rainy night last spring. &nbsp;It&apos;s an amazing animal. &nbsp;She knows her name. &nbsp;Paws my shoes, my pants, goes into my pockets and pulls stuff out, licks my hands and forehead, and loves a good back scratch. &nbsp;<br><br>She&apos;s learned what&apos;s off limits, but when I step away she&apos;ll do that thing right away. &nbsp;But, the first times she sees me again she&apos;s a good as an angel licking her paws and looking randomly around the room. &nbsp;Almost like she&apos;s thinking &quot;What are you worried about?&quot;.

  We&apos;ve had a pet raccoon for over 5 years now. He&apos;s been fixed and micro-chipped. He responds to his name and goes in an out of his cage which by necessity needs to be quite large because these guys are cleaner than a cat meaning they sleep in one are and do there business always in the same place in another away from where they sleep. He loves the paddle board &amp; can swim like a fish albeit a lot slower. You can NOT lock him in his cage but he sometimes locks it himself when he doesn&apos;t wanna be bothered. He never leaves the property because we have 100 foot tall pines here that he can climb. He goes up there to sleep sometimes for hours. He has NO odor. He&apos;ll come when you call his name unless he&apos;s up in a tree sleeping which he mostly does during the day. They&apos;re a friendly animal so please never harm one.

  One fact that you have forgotten or didn’t check was that the raccoon “” on wash their food because they have no saliva glands so they get their food completely wet. It helps them to eat it.

  Appreciate the video. No negativity toward these little guys, just facts. I have 5 that are vaccinated an one which does lack melanin, thier mother was ran over an they were just wandering around in the ditch at a young age. Still nursing age. They go fishing and hiking with me an do love to climb. Can open doors turn lights on an off, flush the toilet, open drawers, and find my candy stash no matter where I hide it. They ride in the truck real well now without messing with the stereo buttons. Theyre 4yrs old an still havent left. There have been manv here to rehab since that chose to live wild but these seem content to stay.
