  Respectfully, I think people underestimate how small things that happen in people's lives can also cause massive repercussions too depending on the person and situation.  I personally think it actually benefits the storytelling but that’s just me. ☀️

  Yess finally someone who understands why the backstory is so simple. Like idk why everybody wants some kind of messed up trauma in order to have sympathy for a character.

  Starlight glimmer backstory is not bad it just needs some more time to explore this of the aftermath of young Starlight glimmer point of view after sunburst left for magic school

  What people have to remember is that some things that might appear like "no big deal" to a grown adult can feel devastating to a child and for Starlight watching her only friend discover his gift and go to a school for gifted people while he and the adults cheering for him payed her no mind must have left an gaping emotional wound that took significant time to heal.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsjRDMFQtRA&amp;t=166">2:46</a> I will say it&apos;s sadly REALISTIC how most parents get so distracted on moving to another location with their family for whatever the reason is that they forget that their child has made friends up to this point.<br><br>So most of the time it&apos;s mainly up to the child like Sunburst that has to remind their parents that they have friends that they&apos;re about to move away from and they want to say Goodbye to them. So you are RIGHT for Sunburst having some of the blame.😅

  If her mother was out of the picture either via death or possibly divorce...that only STRENGHTEN her worldview that differences between people are bad.

  Yeah I headcanon that starlight glimmer got into a fight with bully or she was trying to send sunburst massage letters see how he was doing but no response so she keeps doing it and doing it and doing it and eventually she stop and thinking that her childhood forgotten about her and making starlight glimmer hate cutie marks for that

  Equestria is literally built on friendship being the most powerful force of their world, so for me this &quot;simple&quot; trauma that she experience work since based on the little info we got she might had not have others friends and &quot;losing&quot; the only friend she got due to a cutemark might have been a big change for her that changed her perception on cutiemark from being tied to someone destiny to a weapon that divide ponies (reason she created her own town and stole everypony &nbsp;cutiemark)

  Starlight&apos;s backstory kinda reminds me on how major moment&apos;s someone&apos;s childhood or past can have a great effect on how a person acts or behaves in the present. It may not be seen a significant to others but to the person effected it is, especially on how they were raised back at home. People are different in the aspects of emotional maturity, mental state, and perspective of life. People can have the same background then become different people later in life because in the end we&apos;re all different. ☀️ <br><br><br>I do kinda wish we&apos;d see more on the aftermath of Starlight&apos;s cult. We barely even see them besides a few moments in certain episodes.

  I love Starlight Glimmer, I ain’t lying when I say she is my most favorite character in the show! And I agree, a situation that looks like nothing to someone can be devastating to someone else. Everyone is different and reacts to a problem differently.

  I personally always liked this backstory as I saw it as the event that Starlight herself blames s the inciting incident for why she turned out the way she did, even if it would have been cool to see the specific events and potential later traumas that lead to her forming her philosophy and town it wouldn&apos;t change the fact that this is the incident that she sees as the start of it all, also I can&apos;t believe that I&apos;ve always had this opinion of her backstory yet never made the connection to the butterfly effect and how it ties to the rest of the finale, makes me appreciate it even more.
