Never switched from CD. Physical media is a no brainer. Buy actual books as well.

My wife-to-be invited me to her apartment to listen to her Laurie Anderson CD.
We were married for more than 20 years before she passed on.
We both loved to listen to many genres of music and loved to go shopping for new CD's.
Now I think of her when I listen to those CD's.

I went back to physical media when Google so messed up my account that they literally could not figure out how to fix it. So, I told them I would open a new account, could they please transfer the movies that I PURCHASED to the new account and they said "NO". So now I purchase music and movies on physical media, then rip them and place them on my Plex media server.

My favorite music story of all-time involves a CD. In 1989, my parents bought me a rack stereo system with a CD player. After opening it up on Xmas morning and being blown away, my Dad said, “Oh yeah, and your Mom thought it would be helpful for you to have one of these compact discs and so she went out late last night (Xmas Eve) and bought you this…” and then my Mom handed me a CD long box (remember those?) and I unwrapped it and it was Pink Floyd “The Wall”. Again, I was blown away and I asked Mom how did she know how much I enjoyed that album? She said she just got lucky she guessed. She went to the record store and asked the clerk what album would blow him away if his parents gave it to him and that’s the album he selected. And yes…I still have that album.

I've been saying for years now that as soon as Gen-Z realised CD's were "digital vinyl" they would make a comeback.

I live in the Netherlands and still buy a lot of CDs in the local thrift stores. The average price is between 50 cents and 1 euro per CD.

Stop telling people to buy CDs. If you keep getting people to buy them, the price will probably go up.

I have a nice collection of CDs and over 600 DVDs I love have a library of physical media. Used prices are crazy low......buying used is FUN.

I work in a radio museum in the Netherlands where we also exhibit CD players. KEES SCHOUHAMER IMMINK, the developer of the CD at Philips, regularly visits us. I've had the chance to speak with him a few times already; he's a nice, and very interesting man. As a Dutchman, I'm quite proud that the CD and the CD player are a Dutch invention that Sony helped develop further, because it is and remains a Dutch invention.
