  The facial recognition diagram is not only about dimensions, it is about angles too. Vertical and horizontal alignments also help the accurate placement of key points of the 3D form of the head, face, neck, shoulders, etc...  I totally agree about developing sensitivity of observation.

  Brilliant presentation. I love portrait, painting, most of all because the composition is already embedded. But it is challenging… And FUN! I’m no expert, but I do find that taking a photo of my painting at various stages helps me to find some of the errors in relationships between features. Also stepping back from the painting like John Singer, Sergeant did is immensely important… Although I need to do that more. Thank you for this.♥️

  Love your videos and your excellent instruction. Watched this one several times. I've had significant success as a painter of just over a year.
