15:57 I realize many of the men in this film are intentionally portrayed as creepy, but the well-mannered PhD making a polite pass at Clarice was the strangest moment to bring attention.

Lecter didn't have an accent like Clarice's. He was mocking her accent by mimicking it. In the end, both Lecter and Crawford ended up respecting and liking Clarice for her bravery and intelligence.

You’re smart. Anthony Hopkins intentionally did not blink. And look up where he ad libbed her accent part. It surprised her.

“He covets.”

Such a simple yet profound sentence. Desire, or “coveting”, is the fundamental cause of evil. Our selfish desires, when amplified enough, can cause us to commit the most heinous crimes.

The only circumstance in which I hear "I'm here for cannibalism" and then I reply with "Yay, woo!". lol

like the lamb, and Precious, she frees both Lecter and Catherine from their pens... even Gumb, she sets free from the Hell that is his life.

I most definitely have a sensitive stomach, and it took me ages to build up the courage to watch films with gory content.

This reminds me to cook a lamb roast I bought after Easter and leave it rare. Cheers.

Anthony Hopkins is just such a genius and versatile actor. For a couple of other films to demonstrate his range I can highly recommend The Father (2020) and the Australian comedy Spotswood (1991).
