I actually saw this in the theater when it first came out. Imagine a theater full of people watching that "get me a bucket" scene. It was a combination of laughter, horror, gagging, screaming and everything in-between...a LOUD combination.

The opening short was supposed to be a short animated sequence in the middle of the film, but Terry Gilliam was just starting to come into his own as a live action director and wanted to turn it into a short film at the beginning.

1:55 That woman has to put the kettle on because she was the "Tea Lady". In ye olde corporate times prior to the 1980's, there were often women employed by businesses to take a trolley around workplaces with a catering kettle, teapot, instant coffee, biscuits and if you were lucky, cake for smoko, lunch and afternoon tea.

Part VI: Your reaction made my day :)))) Nearly as good as the two girls next to me in the cinema when it came out.

The masters "wife" is played by Patricia Quinn, who played Magenta (the maid) in the Rocky horror Picture show.
I think they're lying - no they're a tiger 🐯. 😅🦁 😅

30:53 They did indeed film in an actual building. Specifically, the restaurant scene was filmed in Porchester Hall in London. I visited that building last year and the overall layout of the lobby still looked the same and the road outside was still recognisable. The zebra crossing is still there although it looks a bit different now (including some LOOK LEFT/LOOK RIGHT words by the pavements and the island half-way across that were not there in 1983).
