  I know everyone loves a bunch of flowers but this is seriously one of my favorite parts of your garden.  Simplicity is so hard to nail and you have done that

  Everything I know about gardening I learned from trusted channels like yours. I decided on day one to not rush anything and be ok with some things I do that may fail. The garden is my happy place.

  Thank you for this show and tell! It gave me some great ideas for an overhaul I'm planning for next Spring in my Northern garden (Southern Ontario, Canada) after losing 30 ash trees (and a ton of privacy) to the ash borer this year. BTW, I had unexpected deer damage as well this year. I put that down to the severe drought we experienced here. My conjecture is that they were simply thirsty and were looking to extract any moisture they could from any garden plants I had left alive in my tortured garden🙁

  Whoa, you paid for everything and did all the work? What neighbor in their right mind would say no to that? Glad most stuff worked out well. Mixed borders are great!

  What a really informative and helpful video, Erin. Being able to see how it looked when it started and also the size of the plants that went in and then see it now... That&apos;s a lot of visual information and hugely helpful to me. <br>I love that iceberg Willow. It&apos;s absolutely beautiful. I wanted to purchase one but was told that the root system is so unbelievably vigorous that it will crowd out the rest of the plants very quickly. Maybe that&apos;s just in North Carolina or Southern States. <br>Anyway that border is really a lovely mixed display. That picea also really catches the eye.

  I love this mixed border! &nbsp;Several of my garden beds are under mature trees; mostly Maples, Oaks and Black Walnuts. What I have found is that all hydrangeas need extra water no matter how established they are, but Diervilla, Abelia, Prague Viburnum and Yew &nbsp;have established on their own with very little extra irrigation from me! Good luck!!
