  People who allow their cars to get into these conditions are the main reason why flying cars should NEVER be put in the hands of the common person.

  I'm a retired mechanic. The calipers upside down one.back in the 1970's a shop called me and asked how to bleed calipers.  I told them, later on they called back & couldn't get a petal. I went to there shop they had the calipers upside down. It's one I'll never forget.

  I typically try to do my own car repairs and maintenance, though I&apos;m certainly not a mechanic. My philosophy has always been &quot;If I can take it off without breaking it, I can put a new one on.&quot; and this has actually served me quite well except for one time. I decided to change out my brakes entirely, pads, calipers, rotors, the whole shebang and actually pulled it off quite well, or so I thought. After getting it all back together and bleeding the brakes, come to find my petal went straight to the floor with no resistance. Tried in vain for hours to figure it out, eventually called it quits, and called the mechanic I used for things I didn&apos;t trust myself to do. Come to find out, I put the calipers on the wrong sides. Had absolutely no idea that they were supposed to be on specific sides! I&apos;m sure the mechanics had a good laugh at my expense and I laugh about it to this day.

  The VW at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFKjfP8ePo4&amp;t=1890">31:30</a>.....Most people don&apos;t know that when you have a sunroof, you need to regularly check the drain tubes to make sure they aren&apos;t clogged. Cleaning them out can save you a lot of money in the long run.

  I rescued my brother-in-law&apos;s 2001 Volvo S40 from the junkyard last year. The cabin filter had never been replaced and the pleats couldn&apos;t be seen anymore as they were totally impacted. When I went to pull &nbsp; the filter out a huge pile of dirt dropped on the floor.

  The &quot;mystery substance&quot; found in a customer&apos;s gas tank looks like somebody pumped their station tank dry to the bottom where you&apos;re gonna find mud and other junk

  I have a personal rule of visually inspecting my vehicle before/after servicing, so far it&apos;s caught numerous instances of something being just a little loose, and saving me a trip, and on occasion catching something a mechanic left behind, including one time where I found <i>two</i> 10 mil sockets in a footwell, mechanic was quite happy I caught that lol.
