I’m so glad someone is actually looking into aerodynamics of modified offroad vehicles. Hugely overlooked area, it’s nice to see someone taking this into consideration in a build and not talking it down like you see on forums.

I'm super curious if an air-dam below the front bumper could help. You could make it removeable so you can take it off when you are not on the freeway.

Used to be a company "Wildernest" that built traditional fiberglass canopies with built-in rooftop tents. I don't think they're still around, and haven't seen similar products from anyone else. But that's pretty much what you're looking for.

Yes, a flush topper with a pop top would be my ideal setup in a pickup. Until then, I think the “use an SUV and don’t attach anything to the exterior” will keep being the winner for me.
