  I retrofitted my Jeep Wrangler JKU 2.7CRD 5-speed NAG1 with DANA 30/44 Eaton E-Locker and I&apos;m totally satisfied. Really easy to install, no compressor needed, and with 35&quot; Mudterrain tires, I&apos;ve never really gotten stuck. I drive the same trails as other Rubicon models and don&apos;t see any differences. You only need an Air-Locker for rock crawling. And yes, the DANA 30 axle can handle up to 35s.

  Here in Australia, about 15 years ago a prominent 4x4 magazine did a durability test to destruction with the air locker, e-locker and an auto locker of which the brand I can’t recall. They set them up in a machine with one axle locked and the other in the head of the machine measuring the torque until something gave. The air locker came out on top with a snapped axle and no internal damage. The e locker came second with an axle breakage but also with damage to the spider gears and dog teeth and the auto locker just failed well below the others. <br><br>I personally used the air locker and it went well never had air leak problems but I did have issues getting oil up the airline to the point it would not lock or unlock. I just blew it out every three months and it was fine. <br><br>My next vehicle I think I will go an elocker.

  Best locker I ever had was the Detroit locker. Always a blast when someone not familiar with it was riding in my Wrangler and that thing starts locking and unlocking. The sound and feel of it in action is memorable.
