The JR pass tip is way too important ! it's not even close to being worth it. <br><br>My itinerary: Tokyo -> Nikko -> Hakone -> Kyoto -> Hiroshima -> Osaka <br><br>According to my maths i will spend roughly 75000 Yen (around 400e) for this trip for transport with the different area pass available and a good amount (30k Yen) put on the side just for my suica or taxi's. On the other hand the JR pass alone would cost me 100000 Yen (roughly 550euros)... Those pass grant me access to bus, ferry and so in those area while the JR pass doesn't.

Thank you for all the tips!! I asked Google if it's okay to exchange USD to yen in the airport, and they said it's okay since they offer competitive rates. Meanwhile withdrawing cash may offer better exchange rate, at the expense of additional processing fees. Any other recommendations?
