  Supermarkets are way better and way cheaper. We shop at aeon and it’s way cheaper and eat at the local restaurants . We only go here for emergency

  I ate my way thru Japan. 7-11, Lawsons, basement of dept stores, izakayas, vending machines. Hmmmm. We did other stuff but I mostly remember the food.

  I&apos;m planning my own trip to Japan and heard about 7-Eleven&apos;s offerings there. The experience appears both different and familiar to what I&apos;ve experienced in North America, but I&apos;ve got to admit the sandwiches and fried food are of higher quality and a better value. I live in Alberta, Canada and the 7-Elevens here (and most convenience stores) are incredibly expensive and the only reason I would go are for the Slurpees, which I hear are rare across the Pacific.<br><br>That strawberry sandwich looks incredibly enticing so it will be on my &quot;to try, many times&quot; list. It&apos;s worth noting that they were selling the Japanese egg salad sandwiches in the North American stores not too long ago, so hope springs eternal.

  Oh boy, this really brought back good memories of my visit to Japan. I bought a lot of the things you mentioned in the video at the big 3 konbini...especially the cream puffs! Even bought those at the supermarkets!

  There are more than 50,000 convenience stores in Japan, but prices have risen due to saturation and recent inflation. They were originally sold at fixed prices, and since supermarkets and drug stores have a better assortment of products and lower prices, convenience stores in Japan are losing customers, and convenience stores are not selling well. Onigiri used to be about 90 yen, but now it is more than 200 yen. It is too expensive in Japan, so people no longer buy it. Drug stores and supermarkets have a better assortment of products and are cheaper.

  For melon bread, I go to Yamazaki Daily Store. They&apos;re constantly renewing their recipes, and I think this is the 10th generation.
