I was living in South Africa in the 1970's and the Beyer Garratt was still running regular services - Loved to see them in mountain areas, and also running in Rhodesia - an iconic and powerful locomotive that could never be mistaken for any 'lesser' engine. These Locomotives had a lovely syncopated exhaust beat....

The 6029 Beyer Garratt is a NSW Government Railway locomotive. Out of 42 in the class four survived but only one in this video is in service. Magnificant machines.

Yep, 4014 was here in Omaha Saturday. I had to go and touch it! I saw Challenger in Council Bluffs several years ago. I love them both.❤

Srilanka have One Locomotive Still Run Since 1922. <br><br>Thats Class B2B 213 4-6-0TT Ten-Wheeler Tender Tank Steam Locomotive. <br><br>Build by Vulcan Foundry England. These Engine is the Non-Retired Engine in Srilanka Nearly 104+ Old.

The LNER had the U1 Garrett designed by sir Nigel Gresley to work as a banker to push coal trains up the Worsbourgh incline.the 2-8-0+0-8-2 was also used on the Lickey incline banking freight and passenger trains

Bathurst NSW - Beyer Garrett 4-8-4 = 4-8-4 at 260 Imp tons operated over the famous Blue Mountains until the 1960 s.As a very young fireman I worked these locos twice in my steam years.
