The quality to price ratio of US guitars is hilarious.

There is a small question though: it is not China but it is the USA themselves that fight themselves, because for example the company that produces Gibson in China is owned by Gibson, not a Chinese partner.

The problem of costs is not the fault of US workers it is the cost of corporate greed

There is a difference between the words Cheap and Inexpensive. Chinese and Indonesian made guitars have some excellent quality of their own. These are not cheap but they are inexpensive.

The complete fallacy that 'tariffs' are taxes paid by the country they come from is what everyone needs to learn. Tariffs are consumption taxes paid by the users of those items. WE pay the tariffs not China, Korea, Canada or only of the illegally taxed countries.

New made in USA guitars are overpriced while a decent quality USA brand guitars made outside USA could never feel right… so the solution is… buy old guitars from the second markets. They are way better.

The average musician can't afford an instrument over $1,000 let alone can they barely afford an instrument at $500. American does not mean high quality and superiority. This was propaganda fed to Americans after WWII. Gibson and Fender have fed the "MADE IN THE USA" and "tone wood" bullshit to the American consumer ever since the 1950s in order to sell instruments. The American worker lost the drive that was there during WWII. This country has fallen behind in everything because of our politicians and government policies. Every guitar that I have played that was made in Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, and China has been better than any Gibson, Fender or PRS. Better in price, playability, feel and looks. Look at Ibanez. They make far more superior guitars than any company on the planet.

Yamaha guitars now built in China are exceptionally well made, thanks to the Japanese parent company maintaining meticulous quality ontrols over the Chinese factories. I recently bought a Yamaha 6-string acoustic made in China, and it's superb.

I’m Indonesian, and I used to work at Samick. I once brought two guitars brand Cort and brand Samick (high end) to several solo guitarists, bands, and TV artists, and I recorded them to see their reactions and feedback as they played the guitars. And do you know what their impressions and reactions were after seeing and playing them? “they must be from the black market, definitely surplus stock from auctions. FYI, the guitars they usually use are PRS SE, Ibanez, Jackson, and Squier. Since then, my coworkers and I have been calling them “Brand Idiots" 😅
