There are many good guitar models being made outside the US. I own 16 guitars 3 of which are USA Gibson and Fender and 2 by Yamaha in Japan. The others are made by factories in Korea, China and Indonesia. That are built for Epiphone, Music Man and PRS. The 2 Gibson 1 Fender I bought prior to 1973. The others were purchased in the 2000's to 2026. All of them are great guitars and fun to play. The country of origin and logo on the head stock doesn't mean as much as it use too.

Because of CNC and all the advanced machining procedures used in guitar manufacturing....the name/logo has never meant less than it does right now. I've bought sub $200 guitars that after I set up to my liking play and sound as good as a few of the American made guitars I've owned in the past by Fender and Gibson. I literally used to only buy Fender/Gibson/Jackson guitars made in the USA. That was a long time ago .

I hate it when people refer to the Epiphone of today as the same company that people played in its initial creation.

Don't worry too much. Eventually the market floods, then dries up. Loads of used stuff in good shape out there. Market crashes.
Up n down, back n forth. That's markets

I've worked for Samick in Korea then at Cort in Indonesia. We put in some of their first CNC's they used. I have a Squire a shop floor manager gifted me. It's a superb instrument. It's a left handed Contemporary series. It's rare and cherished.

Who needs a Gibson or Fender these days? Here in Europe, I also like to buy Mayones. Or if I don't have the money for one of those, I buy a Harley Benton Fusion Pro. You get excellent quality for a small price.

Interesting video (especially given the fact that it is just an advertisement), but there was a great deal of relevant information left out of this story, to a degree that may mislead those individuals who are less knowledgeable.

I'm sure the books they are flogging are potentially useful, and if I had more money I might even buy one of them- but I would strongly suggest that if you really want to learn this stuff you should do what those of us who are older had to do both before and after the internet.

Do your own research, build your own knowledge & expertise, and draw your own independent conclusions...

I just bought a Donner Hush X travel guitar. It has features I consider advanced and better: zero fret, no head stock, tuning screws in the bridge. That sucker came out of the box accurately intonated and the zero fret makes the fretted notes have the same tension as the open string notes and it has stayed tuned for weeks (so far). Every Fender I ever bought needed to be prepped by a professional luthier before it could sound right.

3 years ago I took a chance on a china Dean V copy, the guitar was made quite well with the small exception of the finsh in a couple of spots,. I stripped all of the hardware and electronics, and replaced them with grover tuners , and a shaller bridge , better pots and the 57 Gibson pickups that were in my es135 that I replaced with burstbucker pros. That guitar is now compatible to the action and feel of my 82 Dean. My only complaint is that the headstock is more pointed like the Washburn style, but the valute is more thick and robust than Gibsons, so that is a big plus
