  It's "hard to hear" only to americans, who have been programmed into thinking american products are superoir and that USA is #1.

  The problem with Epiphones is that they're no longer affordable, example a 335 for £699 when similar Chinese built guitars sell for £300 or less!

  It’s interesting that shop classes, where I learned the most real, practical, and important learning has been cut and replaced by college prep classes and the net result is that people are less intelligent, and what they do know is wrong. I do have 3 degrees, but got them in the sciences so they are useful, though I did have to suffer through the struggle sessions now and then.

  The Chinese employees are dedicated to the companies that they work for! No matter the product ! So if it's guitars or something else, you can count on quality workmanship !

  Ive played epiphones for 15 years and only 2 out 8 ive owned have been bad guitars and was somehow just drawn to the epiphone brand but they arent very affordable anymore especially in Australia. The tribute bolt on neck model now is $700 and anything with that gibson headstock or signature models is well over $2k and upwards of $3k

  Calling foul on the facts claimed about Squier: we understood the Affinity line to be manufactured in China (unverified) whereas the 2 x Classic Vibes we own both say Made in Indonesia (as our both Gretsch Streamliners we own). All x4 guitars are excellent value for money less the necks which flex too readily with the temperature, affecting the action.

  Bought a very nice Epiphone Firebird in 2022. Lovely specs, terrible finish. Needed full fret dress . My Vietnamese built HB SC550 arrived ready to go. Swapped out pups for Iron Gears but thr original ones were okay..ish

  I d tried some chibsons. Are not son close to original Gibson LP  but for its prices and with some hardware update those chibsons could fight with deluxe Epiphones and wins, and get so much closer to the original LPs. If you must choose between a -$600 chinese guitar  and a +$2000 prestigious trademark guitar the winner is obvious if the sound and hardware are not so different.

  In the end there should have been a comparision in sound and durability quality, but there is no such thing.
