I had a grey H reg XR2i. Bought it 28 years ago, absolutely loved it, the interior brings back so many memories

I have a 2i on a K plate. It will be finished by the summer. Cant wait . 94k , 1.8 16v (105ps) in very good condition and just going through a big overhaul to get it back to its 90s glory.

Was putting sills, inner sills, floor edges, inner rear wheel arches and outer rear wheel arches on these 20 years ago - and they were as rotten as a pear then 🤷♂️

I had one for about 20 years they weren't quick they love to rust around the filler cap. It's still on the road even now. <br>Had it in the best col.... Had a hundred and seventeen miles an hour out of it. So did ok 👍

Great video. I had an 89G Radiant Red 3dr as my first car in 2000. Sadly it was only a 1.1L as the XR2 prices were too much. It was rusting badly on the arches and valances, which my Dad repaired for me, and later on, the offside sill needed replacing. Ford’s corrosion protection left a lot to be desired.

Bought a grey 1 for £80, mot failure.<br>Fitted a clutch, serviced it, brakes and repaired the failure items, fitted road legal slicks and took it to knockhill where it struggled to get to a dismal 70mph up the straight, it was woeful and I sold it after that for £750 and bought a nova gte which was slightly faster.<br>That would be 20 years ago too so back then the red 1 in the video was only worth £80 on a good day.
