Did you know in the original version of Final Fantasy IV, if Edge steals a weapon or shield from an enemy while another character is selected, that character can do an in-battle weapon swap to the stolen weapon or shield, regardless of whether they should be able to equip it or not. You can do this to put shields on Rosa and Rydia for the rest of the game.

FF4 was one of the first games I played as a kid when it was FF2 on the SNES and it is still one of my favorite games!

To go on the localization of how they highlighted Cecil's character through gameplay. In the original localization instead of Dark/Shadow/Deathbringer and the Dark/Hades/Demon armor sets we got something which seemed to show a literal darkening of the spirit in the names Shadow/Dark/Black - Both for weapons and armor. It provided an interesting view of what could have become of Cecil if he had continued on the path of a Dark Knight.

How about Frog Song? I never would have discovered on my own that Edward/Gilbert has a 100% Frog status inflictor if Rydia Toads him. I can’t find a practical application, unless perhaps Rydia learns Toad in the Antlion nest. By the time you reach Mt. Hobbs, too many enemies resist Toad.

I legit played this 2 player with my friend on SNES and it was honestly really fun.

Some interesting things there. I knew about Tella getting weaker as he leveled up, but never knew about the spirit stat for DK Cecil going down as well

The first FF I ever played. Maybe 10 years old and playing it completely fresh. I even remember writing it on my school calendar in 2003 when I finally beat the whole game 🤣

The last stat fact i had no idea. That’s pretty neat.

The Tellah stat-decreasing thing is even more obvious in the 3DS remake. It starts happening much earlier, and the stat decrease is highlighted in red (similarly to how increases are green). And it goes along with his level-up animation, where he does a little "huzzah!" fist pump and then hurts his back.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q12yE2QaUn4&t=351">5:51</a> that's because Square decided it should be an even party spread for multiple players. They tested it in 4jp but removed it since splitting 5 characters between 2 players could cause friction between players, so they removed it for the NA release. They readded it in FFVI since it had 4 party members, didn't add it for 7 or 8 since it only had 3 party members and added it back to 9 since it raised it back to 4 members.

As an avid enjoyer of FF4 who has spend years learning everything he can about the game, I'd like to add in a weird secret of my own that I found that you don't see anyone talking about.<br><br>The North American version off FF4 named FF2 has all the droppable battle items still present in the game. They're simply made inaccesable. Monsters don't drop them and you can't buy them from stores on the SNES. BUT through the use of the Game Genie, you can modify them into your inventory. Every in battle use item still functions exactly as they should BUT they were all renamed to "Dummy". Each up tick of the game genie code that accesses them will swap to the next in order item named "Dummy". All named the same but still functioning as they should and never fully removed from the code.<br><br>Also: the "invisible chests" they're doorways, healing tiles, and stairs is when you push the "use" function to open them. I wished you showcased them in the video. Was weird seeing you mention them but not saying WHAT or WHERE they are. Simply checking entrances/stair tiles you'll find these chests. If you want to call them that.
