  The one thing i love about playing ryu is no matter what the health bars say i never feel like im losing im one hit away from a win

  Ending Walker started out with Ryu as his main when he was considered mid-tier at release and for the first year or so until Ed was released. He didn't switch because of the buffs, he was there when he wasn't cool and everyone was complaining you can't win with Ryu because his gameplay is too honest.

  there's something wrong with that donkey kick. it's just so frustrating because it's nearly impossible to punish, and the active frames last way too long so you end up getting hit anyway.

  As a day 1 Ryu main who has been playing him back when he was considered a "worse Ken" and a character not worth playing, it's so nice to see him getting his much deserved glow up after all these years. Is he oppressive and crazy strong? Absolutely. But after years of being left behind, I say he deserves it. From both a gameplay and lore standpoint.

  I’ve never ever hated Ryu in any and every game he’s appeared …, until SF6. The amount of Ryu’s you have to play PERFECTLY against while he can slop his way to a win is ridiculous. He’s way too safe for the damage and pressure he can do.
