Even if it were possible, waking up in a world I wouldn’t recognize, in a body that isn’t mine, with everyone I ever knew being dead, sounds like an absolute nightmare.

When you get thawed out: “I’m sorry, but your funds ran out 3,000 years ago and you now owe $700 trillion.”

I think maybe an even bigger issue is WHY anyone in the future would want to thaw you, unpoison you, and restart you? People are counting on future people caring enough to reanimate them.

And when the company fails the bodies are defrosted and disposed of. It's already happened to a lot of those companies.

I’m imagining all that bacteria that was supposed to devour bodies from the inside out reawakening in 400 years

If you're considering cryonics, you also need to consider the fact that you have no control over the company/corporation that is storing you. They could run out of funding and/or go out of business in 20 years and in the end, you just paid 6 figures to rent that frozen capsule for a generation, only for your body to be buried or cremated, in the end.

People selling these dreams of eternal life to rich people are literally making "a killing." Despite very little to no chance of them being revived in the future, no one will be asking for a refund, since they're dead.

If they were revived 50 or 100 years from now all of their family and friends would be dead and they would find themselves in a foreign land that would be very creepy probably worse than death.
