  Hey, Next time you have a nerikomi piece crack, like your fruit bowl (maybe covering the slump mold with plastic) putting the bowl back on the slump mold and draping a wet tea towel over it; bag it for a day. This rehumidifies the whole thing so you could reuse big parts of your nerikomi to make other pieces pretty intact. We do this to rehumidify sculptures that went dry.

  I was holding my breath when you were flipping the clay and placing it on the mold! I even do that when I flip clay. And could have cried when I saw the cracks. The final pieces have turned out gorgeous though, people don’t realise just how much work goes into hand building. Well done, you’re very brave ❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹

  Valiant effort Mia! I have had pretty good luck bonding Nerikomi slab sections over a mould using a small roller/brayer to compress the slab directly over the mould - I use damp paper-towel to protect the pattern for that rather than cloth, it tends to wrinkle less. You&apos;re right about resting the assembled slabs, it helps a lot.

  I actually prefer the scrap dishes that look less like quilt pieces. I like how abstract it is! I ordered two :)

  This technique is so beautiful! I feel like your process was great, the failure point was that a flat sheet doesn&apos;t fit on a curved surface as the flat sheet has more surface area, which caused the sheet of clay to deform and separate

  Congrats Carolina! 💚 you deserve happiness and love forever.<br><br>The fruit bowl was BEAUTIFUL. Keep that design and colors for later 🥲 but the dishes are so precious and the scraps worked so well. I love the nerikomi projects so much.
