I saw an interview the other day with Michael Jai White in which he said that on the first day of shooting this scene Heath Ledger was there in full make-up and costume, and everything seemed normal, but then it turned out the Joker was not in the shots they did that day (those were shot the next day). Heath Ledger knew this and did hours of make-up and costume simply to help the other actors get in the zone, even though he didn't have to and no-one made him do it.

"No I'm not. No, I'm noT." is legit a top 5 line and facial expression deliveries of all time. You can extract sooo much of his character from 3 words said twice. This is acting.

Heath gets a lot of love, and deservedly so, but imo everyone in this move kills it. Bale, Eckhart, Ledger, Freeman, Caine, Oldman.
