  I worked in a high fidelity store in the 80’s as a part time job as as student. These, paired with an LP 12 and Naim amplification, were my absolute favourites. They were incredible.

  Legend has it that Ivor Tiefunbrun used to demonstrate how effective the Sondeks isolation was by placing the turntable on the top of one of the Isobariks without any degradation of the reproduction. The deck is the same size as the top of the speaker.

  I was a dealer in the 80s<br><br>I purchased my pair in ‘87, which are the last version of the “in speaker base” crossovers (very simple)<br><br>They also have 4 pair of inputs (I&apos;ve never seen a pair with only 3, but likely pre 86).<br><br>Earlier ones had &nbsp;a single downward aimed XLR, a bit up from the bottom of the cabinet.<br><br>The Velcro is not original as you surmised, the original was about 5/8” wide.<br><br>With the help of a friend in the UK, I have purchased a pair of these in stand crossovers, but not done anything yet.<br><br>I tested all of my nearly 40 year old capacitors and then are within spec.<br><br>I am really struggling, as I can only imagine what they’d sound like with HQ caps and improved inductors, I just hate modifying them.<br><br>By the way, not rosewood, which are lovely and quite dark, they are likely Afromosia, albeit with a larger grain than mine.<br><br>Happy to share some images as well.

  The Velcro looks original to me. I just miss the square steel tube stands under it. It&apos;s 25 years ago I saw them the last time in a private household though. And it&apos;s the first time I see the passive crossover, &quot;everybody&quot; used the full active mode for the Isobariks, usually with Naim amps. That&apos;s maybe because the vendor in my country was specialised on Naim and preferably sold this brand. We had much joy with the setup, that I&apos;m absolutely sure.

  My first exposure to true high end sound, as a 14 year old schoolboy in the mid-1980s. &nbsp;<br>Linn LP12 record deck and Isobarik speakers, driven by a Naim Six-Pack, in a large Glasgow Georgian living room, playing Level 42&apos;s &quot;The Pursuit of Accidents&quot; at concert volumes, with no effort. <br><br>Life changing for me, and perhaps the neighbours downstairs too, I imagine.

  I had a pair with internal Xovers. Can&apos;t believe I carried them upstairs on my own. (One at a time obviously).

  It would be cool if someone made an aftermarket grill set that had the same style and colour choice as the JBL L100. Kind of a classic, vintage mashup!
