  I have a lovely pair 1974 Spendor BC1's with extremely rare rendition crossovers which I refurbished a month ago and the result with replacing from Falcon all caps  accept retaining the blue caps for voicing as these are so rare and impossible to find exact replacements so after refurb is a fantastic result - still in good condition - the result is so pleasant so very musical and truthful speakers.  But NOW I love the idea of buying wrecked and butchered Spendor BC1 sets just for the cabinets to enjoy a bit of playtime in my retirement - working out crossovers and drivers.....thanks for the inspiration! The cabinets are wonderful thats a fact nobody can deny.

  The 4 ohm kef b110 is a great wee speaker to repair Linn ceilidh speakers , you make a mdf ring and glue/screw it into the openings , fit the b110s and run them in series . Usually the kef donor speakers have dud tweeters and you pick them up real cheap .<br>Matt&apos;s video ages ago on a bigger centre cap.... I fitted a 45mm one in the upper drivers . <br>Sound wise they are superior to the std linn offering , if you mod the openings , a b160 will fit but it&apos;s a b110 with a larger basket so not worth backing up the cabinets for probably no return . <br>Yes the big magnet falcon acoustic ones are brilliant but &nbsp;at a price .

  I would be itching to get the dust covers off to see the state of the original voice coils.<br>I don&apos;t know if the back magnet assembly can be removed because I&apos;ve never done it.

  Hello Matt. &nbsp; I may have missed the subject on a video I haven&apos;t watched, but I was wondering if you had considered a programmable dsp integrated circuit crossover solution, driving discrete amplified driver units? &nbsp;It was the discussion of filtering the frequency &nbsp;range in a particular way that made me think about it? &nbsp;You would then be able to make finite tuning, and even set up some listening choices that could be &apos;switchable&apos; on a finished product.<br>Just a thought from interested amateur...<br>Be safe.

  Have you tried the DATS 3 &quot;rub and buzz&quot; test for drivers? I&apos;ve tested new drivers and surprisingly they failed!
