  There's a saying... "Rugby is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen". This emphasises the strong tradition of sportsmanship, discipline, respect for opponents and referees, and overall integrity that is central to the ethos of rugby.

  Rugby referees are hugely respected, speak calmly, explain the foul &amp; and say, &quot;That&apos;s the end of it, off you go&quot;<br>Usually followed by the player saying, &quot;Sorry, sir,&quot; &amp; off they go! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  At <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDPk1XC_Mdc&amp;t=166">2:46</a>, the field referee has not only a mic, but also a camera. It allows to have the POV of the referee on TV. And as it a somewhat big thing, there is a vest arround it, so if he falls on the camera it doesn&apos;t break him a rib or other injuries like that.

  Rugby is one of the only game where the ref is not just here to punish bad conducts but most of the time he&apos;s here to help the game to go and flow.

  In Rugby, referees have means to retaliate. The most violent retaliation that I have seen was when a referee gave a penalty against one team, and and a guy from the other team demanded a yellow card. The referee ask him to stop, he continued, so the referee flip the penalty (it was now against the team of the one saking for a yellow card). And as the guy continued to complain, the ref advance move 10m (10 meter) forward the penalty.<br><br>So you have no interest in bullying a referee.

  Kids are taught respect at young age in rugby, unlike all other sports.

  The incident on 4 minutes where the sound cuts out, the ref is making the player go off because he&apos;s concussed, it&apos;s a player safety thing.

  the entire air of &quot;we are all grown adults here, none of us have the time for whatever nonsense you got in mind&quot; is something I really appreciate from rugby refs.

  One of the best things is when a Captain, who is supposed to be the only appealing to the Ref, is getting overly gobby, the Ref will refuse to speak to them and nominate a new Captain
