  I’m 61, born and lived my whole life in a small town in central Alabama and I have never heard of a pig ear sandwich! &nbsp;I would say the Alabama sandwich is a simple tomato sandwich; soft white bread, Duke’s mayonnaise, thick sliced home grown tomatoes, salt and pepper. It’s not forgotten but it’s dearly loved here.

  Nothing beats a po’boy piled high on crusty bread, especially when the gravy starts soaking into the loaf. Simple food, but it carries a whole city with it

  I lived for years in the Taylor Street neighborhood of Chicago, home to Al&apos;s Italian Beef, which I think is the best Chicago Italian Beef sandwich place, and is conveniently located across the street from a great Italian Lemonade stand. Perfect summer meal!

  As a kid in eastern Montana, I remember loving the hot beef sandwich, which you&apos;re calling the commercial.

  I grew in Virginia and Easter always meant Country Ham Biscuits from Knakel&apos;s Bakery in Culpeper. North Carolina also has Ketchup based Coleslaw, no Vinegar or Mayonnaise in sight. Weirder than it even sounds. Elgin TX (is pronounced El-gin, as in be-gin) is home to Southside Market Barbecue which is the oldest in Texas since 1898. Meyer&apos;s Barbecue just down the road rides their coattail with some pretty respectable products, too. Either barbecue joint makes incredible smoked sausage or hot gut of various types as well as brisket, ribs, turkey and pork loin.

  I grew up in TX (I&apos;m 77) and have never heard of the Elgin Hot Link Sandwich. Sounds good though.

  I was born and raised in Oregon, we had razor clams but never once had them in a sandwich as you&apos;re claiming. It must have just been a coastal thing because most people inland in Oregon had venison sandwiches. That was what I grew up with

  I&apos;m from Michigan. <br>I recently had an olive burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. <br>Best burger that I have had in a long time.
