  Well.... I learned tonight at 68 Years of age that many of my &quot;recipes&quot; I still<br>use today-not many folks know about now! &nbsp;And when I thought Mama was treating me to a yummy treat it was really because Daddy&apos;s mines was probably on a strike! &nbsp;Potato candy is a treat that I only make at Christmas because we tend to eat too much of it! &nbsp;And then...your story caused me to think of a sweet memory of sitting beside my Daddy while he ate pickled hogs feet! &nbsp;He would pick the lean meat out for me and then he would chew on the fat and gristle.... I didn&apos;t know we were having hard times, I only knew it was GOOD!

  My roommate made all kinds of food I wouldn&apos;t even attempt... He&apos;d make meatloaf taste like steak and his homemade Thanksgiving Turkey was to die for. Everything he made was homemade and delicious. He learned to cook food from his mother. He even worked at a candy factory for awhile.

  I&apos;m almost 62 years old. &nbsp;I&apos;ve made, &nbsp; an eaten, &nbsp;every single one of these recipes. &nbsp;An i still make almost every one of these.

  Canned creamed corn has no dairy in it. It was one thing I could safely eat when my body lost the ability to digest dairy and eggs and became sensitive to acidic foods.<br><br>Schools used and still use canned creamed corn.

  My mother was a south Carolinian from the depression age and I can&apos;t tell you how much of this.She cooked and I can&apos;t tell you one of my favorites was the fact that we could make cinnamon toast in the oven

  Even though there’s microwave popcorn.🍿 I still pop old fashioned popcorn in my wok. My adult kids love it.❤❤❤❤

  You had to have a certain amount of money to buy Lucky Charms. We never had it and the hard marshmallow pieces were gross anyway.
