I make an easier version of cabbage rolls. I grease my crockpot with bacon grease. Pour a half can of tomato soup in the bottom. Add chopped cabbage next. Add the beef, pork, & rice mixture on the cabbage. Add more cabbage & top with the rest of the tomato soup. It cooks all day on low. The rice goes in uncooked. It comes out tasting exactly the same without all of the work.

I'm 73 and my mom made the fried cornmeal every fall. Before pouring it into the mold she add sausage that had already been fried and small pieces. Fried up fast and crispy with just a tiny bit of maple syrup 😋

I am 75 almost 76 yrs old and my husband made the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Most of it came from cans but he could somehow make it taste like he invented it all.
